"World's Most Full Coverage Foundation" Review

Happy Fri-yay!

Even though it's currently pouring from the heavens here in Northern Ireland, it hasn't put a complete dampener on my day and that's because of 2 things.
My holiday is booked and I have started getting deliveries full of makeup and clothes for going away and because my tube of highly acclaimed Dermacol Foundation has arrived!

This foundation has been getting top marks from Beauty guru's around the world and has quickly became known as the world's most full coverage foundation.

After watching some videos of the makeup in action, I decided to order myself a tube and give it a whirl to see if it's all that it's cracked up to be and here's what I think so far.

The foundation comes in a nice elegant looking box with a metallic finish while the tube its self is a gold, metallic squeezy one which needs to be pierced to open. The lid is a screw off cap with a little point in the centre which is used to pierce the protective film to access the foundation.
It may look small but don't be fooled. This contains 30g of product and will last a VERY long time considering how far it goes on the skin.

I personally love the packaging.
It's simple, lightweight and pretty to look at but please note that you DO NOT need to squeeze the tube with much pressure to get what you need out of it! This foundation really does live up to its claims of extreme coverage and a miniscule amount goes an extremely long way. It's like liquid gold to me right now and you do not want to waste a drop!

Another thing worth noting is that there are alot of fakes floating around the internet and you can spot the real product by looking for the Holographic trust seal at the back of the box.

Coverage and Longevity:

I can safely say that this is definitely the fullest coverage foundation I have ever seen and used in my life. One tiny dot can actually be too much depending on the size of the area you are wanting to conceal!
A pea sized amount is all you need to cover your entire face and that's all it took to cover mine today!

I applied it with a Real Techniques Buffing brush and it blended and smoothed over my skin like a charm with no dragging atall.

I like that with a thin layer it has intense coverage but is still natural looking and can be worn without looking like a mask however, if you added another layer the coverage would be even more opaque so I know it will definitely work amazingly with Tattoo's and pigmentation. My skin isn't in a bad state at the minute but I do have some freckles and acne scars aswell as one spot on my lower cheek which as you can see in the above image, have all been completely concealed.

Dermacol claim that this foundation is waterproof and after applying a layer to my hand, running it under water and attempting to rub it off, I can confirm that this is true! I had to use 2 pumps of hand soap and warm water to get it to rub off.

What I will say though, is that even though it's waterproof, it isn't oil proof.
This foundation does start to crease and gather around an oily T Zone so it isn't one for longevity especially on a really oily skin type.

My Skin is combination but my main problem is excessive dryness other than my oily T zone and I have been wearing the foundation for a good 5 hours now and I can see it starting to look a bit cakey around my nose and chin and is looking a bit dry on my forehead and centre of nose.

After doing some research before purchasing, I fully expected this to happen and would like to let you all know that this makeup was not created with longevity in mind. It was created with the focus being on excellent, flawless, smooth coverage and is specifically meant for things like photoshoots and film/TV.

With that being said, It isn't surprising that you wouldnt get a full day out of it without any touchups so it is certainly not one to wear on its own for long periods of time and I wouldnt trust it as a foundation on a client as I need my products to be very long lasting for events and weddings etc.
I plan to use this in my kit as a full coverage concealer or as a mixer for foundation to provide extra coverage if it is ever needed.

I am really impressed by this product and it lives up to all of its claims aswell as being:

  • Hypoallergenic
  • Preservative free
  • Cruelty free
  • Waterproof
  • SPF 30
I am going to test it out on how it covers dark pigmented age spots next week and will pop my images up on my Instagram/Facebook page so be sure to keep an eye out for that if you're interested. :)
All of my social media links are on the homepage of the blog underneath my profile image so feel free to follow!

You can read more about the Dermacol brand here and you can purchase your foundation on Ebay where I got mine here.

Have a great weekend!
