Soft Glam- Step by Step

Face Prep:

  1. Prep the skin with a suitable primer and or facial SPF. I also like to ensure extra hydration to my skin by spritzing some Pixi Glow mist before makeup also.

You can purchase Arbonne products on the Arbonne website here and by using the following consultant ID- 441112608

I am in LOVE with this mist! You can purchase Pixi products off the Pixi Beauty website or from Marks & Spencers stores.

Foundation:

  1.  Buff a small amount of the foundation of your choice all over the face, making sure to thoroughly blend around the jawline, hairline and neck if it is needed. I chose the Collagen foundation in shade "Poreclain" which is the PERFECT match to my natural skin tone and it is from Paese Cosmetics Ireland. You can buy Paese products in stockists throughout Ireland and also online. Feel free to read my previous post on Paese products here.
  2. Once you have the foundation completed, Start to conceal any areas of redness or imperfections using concealor. (You can also use colour correctors before applying foundation if you feel the need to and then apply a skin toned concealor over your foundation afterwards.)
  3. Once all of the above is finished, it's time to set everything with a quality setting powder. In this case, I have used the Paese Ireland Rice Powder, which is a transluscent, natural powder which ensure balanced skin and longevity to your makeup!
Contour/Highlight:

  1. With an angled brush, sculpt along the jawline and cheek bones with a matte bronzer. I used Benefit Hula bronzer and it is one of my favourites!
  2. Make sure there are no harsh lines and ensure everything is blended in seamlessly for a more natural appearance.
  3. Take a fan brush and lightly dust highlighting powder along the top of the cheek bones and under the brow bone to lift the appearance of the face and create a youthful, healthy glow. You can also take it down the bridge of the nose and on to the cupids bow of the lips if you wish. It is up to you how dramatic you want to go with your highlighter and if you want a more dramatic effect, you can use your fingers to apply the product for a more intense effect. I chose to keep it quite subtle in this look. I chose a pigment from Peaches & Cream called Pearl and you can read about these fantastic pigments here.

Brows:

  1. Prime the brows with Benefit Browvo! Conditioning Primer and then follow through with Benefit Gimme Brow Brow Mascara to condition and fill in the brows. You can also use a brow pencil or brow powder if you need to.

Eyes:

  1. Since this is a soft, spotlight eye, take a fluffy blending brush and apply an orange and a light beige shade in the crease and inner and outer corners of the eye and blend. Begin to apply a deeper brown shade to create more depth and ensure a seamless blend with no obvious edges. I used the Nubian 2 Palette by Juvia's Place which you can read about and see a colour swatch of here.
  2. Apply a dab of light toned concealer to the centre of the eyelid. This will act as a base for the pigment to stick to.
  3. Apply Peaches Kitten pigment to the centre of the lid and continue to build it up until you get the intensity that you desire.
  4. Apply a small amount of gel liner to the lash line which will act as a guideline for applying false lashes. I used MAC Gel Liner in Black Track for this step.
  5. Apply false lashes and then go over the liner to ensure that the false lash band is well hidden.
  6. Take a deep brown eye pencil and apply this to the waterline. I like to use the NYX cosmetics Jumbo Eye Pencils for this.
  7. Take a smaller blending brush or a pencil brush and begin to apply the same beige and brown shades to the under eye, ensuring they are well blended into one another for a soft but smokey effect.
  8. You can then apply some mascara to the upper and lower lashes if you wish.
  9. Take some Prin pigment from Peaches & Cream and use this to highlight the inner eye area for a glam finish. It catches the light beautifully and helps to open up the eyes.

Lips:

  1. Line the lips with NYX Nude Beige Slim Lip Pencil and bring that colour onto the entire lip.
  2. Apply Paese Cosmetics Ireland Silky Matt Liquid Lipstick in number 700 over the top for a Matt, Nude, Ombre effect.

You can finish the look of by using a finishing spray like Inglot Fixing Mist or by spraying Pixi Glow mist to lock in extra hydration and achieve a lasting dewy finish.
